Crime Reported by Blanco Residents

Please, we urge the community to report ALL incidents to the police or in other circumstances to us. We will go the extra mile and assist you in opening the police case. If you are unable to do so, we will gladly assist. If we fail to report incidents, the police will turn their focus to other areas.

Why do I need to report a crime?

  • Report for insurance purposes only.

  • Report the incidents and let the police do the full investigation, go to court and finalise the case.

  • Report and do not require the police to investigate, but report it for statistics.

Please inform your neighbours to join Blanco Neighbourhood Watch.

Due to limited police vehicles being deployed in George (excluding Conville, Thembalethu, Pacaltsdorp and Herold Policing Precincts), there have been almost no patrols and crime prevention activities from SAPS. The BNW patrollers did their best to fill the void. Unfortunately, due to the limited resources patrollers could not operate 24/7. We, therefore, appeal to the community of Blanco (excluding Valley area)  to join the patrol group. The more people commit to serving this community the better we will become at policing Blanco and preventing crimes.

  • There are no fixed patrol times(flexible hours, you and partner choose own time and duration of patrol)

  • Day patrollers sought- ideally, pensioner/ homemaker/home based worker

  • Full training and support provided.

  • Gear/equipment provided.

  • Petrol claims- AA rate can be claimed

  • No vehicle, no problem, we work with a buddy system, thus you can partner with a driver.

  • Safety in numbers, the more we are, the better we can respond to incidents.

  • You have to be 18 years or older to become a patroller and there is no age limit.
